Moroccan handpainted DIY IKEA Clock

Hey guys this is one of my home makeover DIY projects. Since I had bought this basic IKEA watch for my kitchen, I had my creative side poking me to just personalize it asap. And so one fine day I just decided to throw some white spray paint on it & paint on it with my acrylic colors. And since I am in love with the Moroccan Art & Architecture.. I said why not paint it blue with some nice Moroccan geometrical pattern. Ok so here's how you do it..

Material Required:
Old Wall Clock
Spray paint can (Choose your color)
Acrylic Paint
Sleek Round Brush
Pencil & eraser
Gloves

My Process:

I just looked for some Moroccan geometrical designs online & drew them on the plastic circumference of the watch with a HB Faber Castell pencil & choose this design finally & erased the other ones.

Then I measured one single block as it was a repetitive pattern & marked dots with the help of a fabric inch tape & pencil all over the circumference.

Then I made the design all over with a 2B pencil as I wanted it as a guideline to be visible over the white paint.

And my husband helped me dismantle the clock & I took just the plastic frame&  spray painted it. Try & paint it in an outdoor but place it straight as if on the wall & shake the can well before application & then spray evenly & smoothly all over from a distance. Let it dry for an hour. You can assemble the clock at this moment or later.

Afterwards I painted the clock circumference with Ultramarine Blue acrylic color with the help of a sleep round brush. And Voilaaa my ceramic look alike White & Blue Moroccan inspired Wall Clock was Readyy!!! :)

Now you can't get this in IKEA or any other household you visit ;)

You can do something with sharpie permanent markers or colorful beads or lace or anything you have. I saw many other versions of this clock makeover on pinterest. The most common one was a gift paper or a map neatly glued on to the inside of the clock onto the black & white number dial paper.

Pin it on your To DIY List if you Like it!! :)
